BEESON William Blacksmith 1765 William Beeson, blacksmith. Born circa 1765. William and his son John born 1800 were blacksmiths in Chenies (formerly Isenhampton), Buckinghamshire, England. They were from a long line of Blacksmiths who lived in that area. John moved to Two Waters, Hemel Hempstead, Herts. and set up a blacksmith business there from around 1830, his son James stayed in the business but John's son Thomas born 1835 +/- went to work at the steam train building yard in New Swindon, Wiltshire, around 1850 as a steam engine boiler fitter..
CHANDLER Anthony Blacksmith 1550 Anthony Chandler of Buckinghamshire, born about 1550, was trained as a Blacksmith (perhaps apprenticed to the famous Buckingham bell-founder Ap Powell) and started a family bell-foundry at Drayton Parslow. Anthony married in Buckingham in 1580. Some of the bells made in the 1600s by Anthony's descendants, labelled CHANDLER MADE ME, survive today and at least one 350 year old CHANDLER bell was rung to celebrate the arrival of the new Millennium..
CHANDLER Edmund Blacksmith 1588 Edmund Chandler. A line of CHANDLER Blacksmiths in New England was founded by Edmund Chandler born in England about 1588. Edmund joined a congregation of English religious dissenters who objected to the ceremonies and hierarchy of the established church. The dissenters were persecuted and harried out of England by King James. They fled to Holland, where they stayed for a few years in Leiden and then chartered the Mayflower to take them to America. Edmund travelled on a later ship and played a prominent role in the establishment of the Plymouth Colony. See Blacksmiths North America..

The 1841 UK census lists him as 25yrs, at Green Hailey, Monks Risborough, Buckinghamshire; with wife Mary 20yrs (born Buckinghamshire) plus daughter Elizabeth 2yrs & son Jesse 6months infant. See this index for other Eldridge family members who cross at least three generations of blacksmiths in the Monk's Risborough area. References 1851 and 1881 censuses; BMD death index..

Jesse remarried in 1853, Louisa Hillyar (b1820) but I have no record of any more children. Mary, his youngest child, appears to have died by the 1851 census. In 1851 his younger brother William is a member of his household and his occupation is also shown as a blacksmith..
